River Green lunch, 10th January 2015
For our monthly meet-up, the Norfolk Vegetarians and Vegans enjoyed lunch at the wonderful River Green café at Trowse.
Hillside Animal Sanctuary Open day, 7th September 2014
The group met at Hillside to enjoy some animal free treats from the cafe and then a walk round to see all the animals, many of whom had been saved from ending up at the slaughterhouse. Lovely weather meant the open day was very well attended and it was great to see so many of our members there.
North Norfolk coastal walk, 27th July 2013
14 members of the society (plus 2 dogs) enjoyed a leisurely walk along the coast path from Sheringham to Weybourne. Though a little misty, we were still able to enjoy views inland and the beach at the foot of the cliffs. We enjoyed a picnic on the beach and the children explored. Some members of the group then walked back along the path by the railway track while others took the train back to Sheringham on the North Norfolk railway.
Norwich Veggie Fayre, 13th July 2013
We held a stall at the very popular Norwich Veggie Fayre, held this year at the Quaker meeting house. The stall was very busy all day and we met lots of people and gave out information about veg*anism and the group, including our newly designed postcards. Hopefully this will result in some new members for the group.
Picnic and walk at Felbrigg Hall, 30thJune 2012
14 members enjoyed a picnic in the woods and a walk around the Felbrigg estate. After earlier rain we were lucky to have a sunny afternoon.
Norwich Veggie Fair, 21st July 2012
The NVVS had a stall at the second Norwich Veggie Fair, which was held at St Gregory’s arts centre. This was a great opportunity to provide information to the public regarding veg*an ism, and chat with like-minded people. We gave out information sheets and leaflets about nutrition, green issues, animal welfare and recipes. We also sold some homemade vegan cakes and provided free tasters of some Provamel products. There were many other local and National groups at the fair (with lots of delicious food!) and people were also able to attend talks.
Visit to Hillside Animal Sanctuary, 5th August 2012
14 members enjoyed our annual visit to Hillside. The NVVS make a donation to Hillside each year so it is lovely to also support the cause with a visit.
